Hello, I am a comuter technician at a computer repair store in my town. Recently we have been getting a lot of customers that have contracted the “FBI” MoneyPak virus. Some payed to get their computer unlocked and it obviously did not work. I am trying to get a list of example websites where the majority of the victims contract it. I am going to post this list in our store to warn the customers of some major websites to aboid. (Preferably ones that you are sure to contract it on the first visit)

It not that easy. Those web sites are picked out at random. You would first have to understand how a Exploit Kit works(At least the basics) Built into the kits programing is the ability to scan for web sites that not secure(poor html coding, out-of -date word press plug-in’s, etc…). They then enter malicious scripts,Java, gif’s, jpg’s, etc that when a unsuspecting user visits that site, they are redirected to the HOME site of the actual malware being distributed. Those sites that were attacked are usually fixed pretty quick, but the cycle continues
As a member of the Security side of malware investigation, We do know where “Home” of this crude is and everything that can be done to stop it, is being done
You may suggest to your customers to keep Windows updated, Security software up to date, If they use Adobe or Java, please keep those updated and all older version uninstalled.
Anyone using Windows XP, urge then to upgrade, IE6/7 and 8 are VERY exploitable
