Wouldn’t you like to try them to the same standards we try everyone else, to make sure the accused is actually guilty?

that, and would you want to go against our constitution’s 6th amendment, which states that anyone tried in a US court has the right to a fair trial?

Terrorist shud have a fair trial and so does America, since americans like to terrorize innocent people accross the globe.

Nothing is wrong with that, people just forget that there is a reason we are innocent until proven guilty. Otherwise, all it would take is a neighbor to cry terrorist because you didn’t keep your lawn well trimmed and we are back to burning people at the stake.

Answer by why do libs hate America?

Military tribunals have always been the case, but the libs seem to want to make a statement hoping it further embarrasses the Bush Admin and to Hell with the safety and security of Our Country. How sad libs hate Bush more than they Love America.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. John Adams defended the British soldiers who fired on the crowd at the Boston Massacre because he believed everyone deserved a fair trial.

You should have asked what the reason for secret trials is. You would have then had to admit it was because of the potential for valuable information about the identities and tactics of our law enforcement, potential for collaboration of attorneys, passing of information, using the trial as propaganda, expense, and media circus affecting the jurors.

What is wrong with it is that we are at war. When they lawyer up they have the right to remain silent (in the case of the panty bomber). In the case of the gitmo terrorists, what happens if a judge says none of the evidence is admissible, its tainted, they weren’t read their rights. If you do not want to give them the same rights as Americans, then it isn’t a fair trial. If you do want to give them the same rights, then we have to let them walk. They were water boarded, and not read their rights, they did not get access to lawyers. They did not get a speedy trial. You have to let them walk! If you do not, then you are having a communist show trial, and you are making a mockery of our judicial system.

They had no complaints when Bush et al did this with Richard Reed. No complaints with Moussaoui. It’s all fake outrage in a obvious attempt to make Obama look bad. Problem is it’s difficult to do that when your party did the exact same thing. Fake outrage.

Answer by WhatBrain?

Nothing at all. the question is whether they should get their fair trial by the military as a war prisoner or by the civilian courts as a criminal. Since organized terrorism used as a devise to bring down the governments of western civilized countries, it is obviously an act of war so the prisoners should be fairly tried by the military like in all wars as allowed by the Constitution. Warring on terrorism is largely covert; making the methodology public record serves no purpose other then making future captures and preventions unlikely.
