What torture? We haven’t tortured anyone. We’ve certainly not cut off any one’s head with a dull sheep knife while their alive like the terrorists have done to our boys! What the heck are you talking about?

Also, right now Abu Gharib Prison is ran by the Iraqis.

Right now, things are on hold because Pelosi ran to China (couldn’t take the DC heat). Obama is staying out of the fight, like Reid, Harmon and all Can’t count on your friends at all any more.

The controversy mainly is about weather or not this is humane and if this is the right way to keep America safe. People also debate over weather or not the photos of the prisoners should be released. there is also the question over weather or not this people are guilty because there was not a trail conducted.

Nancy Pelosi is still caught up in the whole the C.I.A misinformed her mess and President Obama is busy dealing with North Korea but never less still dealing with it.

There is no such thing as the “torture debate”. Our military was authorized to use tactics like waterboarding that have been deemed IN THE COURT OF LAW as torture. Only in places like Y!A is there people who close their eyes and ears and blurt out stuff like “what torture?”

Abu Gharib is – to my knowledge going to be completely decommissioned and the demolished.

Guantanamo likely will always have some small prison element, but largely speaking, the prisoners that are there presently will likely all have to be received into the military justice system. Unfortunately, there were no charges and there is apparently NO evidence to support charges against MANY of these guys.

President Bush was content to let these prisoners and others be held without charge or even evidence, (and that is a problem) in so far as evidence wasn’t really what the Bush team was thinking about, they just figured lock these guys up and throw away the key. Trials , evidence or even guilt or innocence didn’t even play into the thinking – apparently.

The “torture” debate, is possibly the most pathetic spectacle of US politics I’ve seen in 20 years. Basically it’s a false-flag/outrage being raised by Republicans.

The thinking is like this, Democrats knew there was torture, since they didn’t all resign or try to impeach the president upon learning about it. So this means waterboarding and other torture methods, aren’t/ shouldn’t be considered torture because the Democratic or other politicians not closely aligned with VP Cheney’s office didn’t immediately object and point it out as such when they were told.

Speaker Pelosi BADLY screwed up, by tryng to deny that she knew about the specific nature of the torture methods, noting that CIA “lied” about what specific methods were involved.Until a few days ago, the Republican political guys were LOVING the fact that Speaker Pelosi got herself into a bind like this. CIA said they informed her, and the Speaker says I don’t recall.

Classic political win, except for the fact that now other people briefed at the same time are starting to comment that the CIA was vague about the specifics and mentioned they were unaware of the specific use of torture against any particular prisoners.

What’s depressing to me, is that we’re sitting here debating the merits of torturing prisoners. It’s pretty perverse when you consider that in our country we like to think of ourselves, pride ourselves upon “doing the right thing” and trying to hold a high moral and ethical ground when you debate matters like this.

So trash the ideals about “family values” unless of course your family values are those of the Addams family.

Be sure a lot better?
