So, I was in Ruehl today and they are closing all of their stores so everything is 40% off. Ahead of me, this lady was buying a ton of clothing and one of the girls turned around and said “you’re not planning to sell this online are you?? Because that’s a federal offense” or something and then she was like NO!! and the girl said “yeah they have been really cracking down on it with the FBI” or something like that. I don’t really believe that, is it true???

It is not a crime. Once you own it, you can sell it. The way it works is that a retailer, like sears, buys clothing from a manufacturer and resells it. You can do the same by buying from a retailer if you think you can make a buck at it.

The ‘crackdowns’ she mentions are regardling retailers selling knock offs. Im not referring to big retailers. Im talking about the little mom and pop type selling so called name brand stuff at bargain basement prices.

The right to resell merchandise at higher prices then was originally paid for it is the cornerstone of capitalism. So long as you aren’t presenting the merchandise as something it isn’t….
IE: You can’t say that this coat was once worn by Jesus and just smelling it cures cancer, as that would be a falsehood.
